Newly sworn-in members of rivers state executive council have been charged
to exhibit transparancy in the discharge of their duties.

Governor Chibuike Amaechi who gave the charge today while swearing-in
eleven new commissioners and one special adviser at government house, Port
Harcourt urged them to work assidiously to deliver democratic dividends to
the people.

The governor said for his administration to leave behind lasting legacies,
the council members must work harder to surpass king Diete-Spiff’s
administration.

On waste disposal within Port Harcourt, the governor directed the State
Enviromental sanitation authority to report to the ministry of environment
and no longer to the office of secretary to the state government in order
to ensure effective waste management control.

Governor Amaechi also directed the ministry of enviroment to dredge the
Nta-Wogba creek and all blocked carnals to allow for free flow of water to
check flooding.

He reminded the new commissioners that non-compliance with the budget is
an impeachable offence and warned them to avoid corrupt tendencies.

Government house correspondent Grace Nyone reports that those sworn-in
include Mr. Ogbonna Nwuke, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Mr. Marcus Nle-Ejii, Mr.
Ezemonye Ezekiel Amadi and Mr. Kingsley Chinda.

Others are Mr. Boma Iyaye, Mr. Augustine Wokocha, Mr. Moses Ahuebele,
Patricia Simon-Hart, Gogo Levi Charles and Mr. Emmanuel Chinda while Mr.
Iboroma Harry was sworn-in as special adviser to the governor on culture.
