: Pensioners/Fed. Shares

A verification exercise of the federal and state pensioners with federal
shares has commenced in Port Harcourt.

The exercise, which will end on the eleventh of this month, is being
handled by a team of officials from the office of the head of service of
the federation.

The move is designed to obtain accurate information on pensioners and
identify those owed, with a view to facilitating payments through the
e-pension payment system.

A statement from the office of the rivers state head of service said the
exercise is taking place at the ground floor, podium block, secretariat
complex, from eight o’clock in the morning each day.

According to the statement, all affected pensioners, are required to be
physically present and expected to come along with originals of two
photocopies of banking information, letter/gazette of first appointment,
letters of last promotion, approval for retirement, confirmation of
appointment, audited authority for pension, pensioner’s identity card and
two passport-sized photographs.

It further stated that those presenting cases of dead pensioners should
come along with the death certificate, letter of administration,
declaration of age and passport photograph of next of kin.

The statement warned that anyone, who fail to comply with the directive,
will be declared as ghost pensioner.
